2nd Belgian Paramotor Open 2010
Cancellation of the "Second Belgian Paramotor Open" due to a lack of sponsors and the absence of a competition director.
The event is postponed to 2011.
The Open is jointly organised by Asbl Bleu Ciel and the Belgian Paramotor Federation FBPM-BPMF.
This second Belgian Paramotor Open is to take place on 28/6 to 3/7, at the Cerfontaine Airfield, in close proximity to the Eau d’Heure Lakes, in one of the most scenic regions of Belgium

This competition could be the stepping stone for an audacious project, bringing the World Paramotor Championships to Belgium, in 2012.
The organising Team consists of:

Competition Director: Michel Carnet
Competition success:
World Champion 2009 in Czech Republic
Bronze Medal at the 2007 World Championships in China

Twice French Open Champion (2004, 2007)
Three current World Speed Records
Experience:
My experience in competition spans over 25 years, through participation and organisation alike, in hang gliding, paragliding, gliding and paramotoring.
Five years ago, I was a founding member and Chairman of the British Paramotor Competition Committee.
As Meet Director, my aim is to steer the Belgian Open in a direction that looks after the interests of the competing pilots.
I will endeavour to adhere to the same task philosophy that made last year's Belgian Open a great event with 17 successful tasks, and that can be summarised as follows:
- Simple tasks, simple to brief and understand, simple to fly, simple to marshal and simple score.
- As many tasks as the weather conditions permit, without having to fly in obvious unsafe conditions.
- Modular tasks to, whenever possible, avoid scoring a zero when landing out.
- Airborne tactical decisions, to reward the pilots’ flying tactics rather than time consuming task preparation and number crunching.
- Fuel economy tasks as run in the UK. No tedious fuelling sessions as pilots and machines are weighed before and after each economy task. This allows pilots to carry as much fuel as they want.
The scenery around the area of Cerfontaine is truly stunning so let’s hope for some nice flying weather to make this Belgian Open, the first of many.
